I flew AKL-PPT on Air Tahiti Nui with Alaska miles five months ago. We are visiting again next year. I logged in to my Air Tahiti Nui account, and I see an unexpected 5k miles.
Looks like when TN moved us from a 4pm flight to a 11pm flight, they accidentally put us in a revenue ticket which earned me miles. For some reason, P2 didn’t get these miles.
There’s no much use for these miles as redemption costs are much higher than 5k.. or is there? I browsed through their non-flight miles redemptions which includes a meal, massage, or cultural show. You can pool miles too.
Ah, actually, those redemptions are only available if you are staying at that hotel, 2 nights minimum… nevermind.
I still had Gemini AI write up an email to see if P2 could get the same miles. I asked AI if I’m at risk of losing P1’s 5k miles by drawing attention to it. AI confidently said “nope, they already gave it to you there’s no way that they would take it away”.
Request was denied.
Then they pursued it further and removed the miles from my account too… lol
Air Tahiti Nui also started going dynamic for AS and AA partner award prices for higher demand slots. (Daytime LAX-PPT slots for example) Let’s blame that on me as well.
